Navigate the Project Path
Although projects vary widely when it comes to learning goals and duration, they share a common structure. Understanding the teacher’s role at each of these four phases in the Project Path will help you with planning, including decisions about technology integration. (In Module 4, you’ll focus on the student role and technology ideas for each phase.)
Project Path |
Teacher's Role |
---|---|
Launch project: Entry Event and Driving Question |
Teachers launch projects with an entry event to fire up students’ curiosity and a driving question to frame the learning experience ahead. They encourage students to ask questions that will drive their learning. |
Build Knowledge, Understanding, and Skills to Answer Driving Question |
Teachers provide lessons, scaffolds, resources, and guidance in response to student needs and questions. |
Develop & Critique Products and Answers to the Driving Question |
As students develop products or solutions to apply their learning, teachers provide additional activities, lessons, and feedback to help students improve their work and deepen their understanding. |
Present Products and Answers to the Driving Question |
Teachers help students share and evaluate their work. Teachers facilitate student reflection. |
