Welcome to Module 2
Get Ideas
If you’re just getting started with Project-Based Learning, it may be challenging to come up with project ideas that will engage your students, empower student voice and choice, and sustain inquiry in a student-driven process. After all, most of us didn’t get to experience Project-Based Learning when we were in school—let alone Project-Based Learning with digital tools!
That’s why it helps to explore project examples before you start designing. Reviewing ideas developed by other teachers will fire up your thinking. Remember: This isn’t time for detailed planning. Instead, focus on the big picture as you consider project ideas to borrow.
Learning Goal
I can improve project design by putting students in the role of Digital Age Learner.
That means:
- I can apply my knowledge of Gold Standard PBL to critically examine project examples
- I can improve project design by setting goals to build students’ competencies as Digital Age Learners (i.e., by increasing opportunities for collaboration, creativity, or real-world problem solving and building students’ digital citizenship skills)
- I can select ISTE Standards for Students to turbo boost a Gold Standard project with technology
